To ensure the professional quality, credibility and effectiveness of the award, the City of Munich establishes two levels of governance: the Munich Fashion Award Advisory Board and the award jury for the Aesthetic category.

Jury

The Munich Fashion Award juries are appointed by the Advisory Board. Each jury is composed of leading international experts in the fields of fashion, sustainability and technology.

The role of the Jury is to review and assess the entries against the judging criteria set by the Advisory Board, to discuss the results together to produce a shortlist of five nominees per award category, to meet the nominees and their work in Munich, and finally to reach a conclusion on the winners through a collaborative and constructive discussion. All jury members sign a ‚Declaration of Transparency‘ to ensure their impartiality towards the applicants.

Advisory Board

The Munich Fashion Award’s Advisory Board is composed of leading international experts from the fields of fashion, sustainability and technology.

The board’s task is to ensure transparency and independence of the award. In addition, the Board advises the City of Munich on the award’s strategic management, appoints the jury and is the patron of the award.
